Untitled document The simplicity of the system and the considerable savings that it leads to has drastically diminished the cost of its use per m2, thus rendering this non pollutant disinfection system available to all truck farmers and horticulturists… Before, water had to be heated in order to be transformed in humid steam at 100°. Nowadays the engineering work done by our research office has made possible to achieve the same result using a different method! Hot air is generated at 400°, it is then to cooled and humidified to obtain a working temperature between 100° and 115° depending on the speed… VERDIVAP AIRSTEAM is a soil disinfection system via the generation of hot humidified compressed air. This concept will allow a considerable reduction of energy. (A gain of 80%) and this for a similar or superior result as in the classic VERDIVAP system. VERDIVAP AIRSTEAM is self-sustained and resolves all the remaining inconvenient of the classic system, such as the lost of huge amount of energy through pipes or tubes (lost of charge or heat), while routing the vapour where it would be used. The VERDIVAP AIRSTEAM VD1 is equipped with a rotary injection system. The device participates in the propulsion of the machine by going slightly faster than the moving speed of the machine, hence giving rise to a perfect homogeneity of hot humidified air in the soil. The injection has been calculated to start as soon as the blades penetrate the soil. The rotary injection device fixed to the frame by two aluminium parts, specially studied by our engineers to support a maximum work load. Indeed the injection system comprising of seventy blades made of hardened steel and coated with cubic boron nitride. The hot humidified air is injected to a depth of up to 30 cm at several levels and on the surface simultaneously. 
Rotary injection system Under the condition that the soil has been sufficiently deeply prepared as necessary, the machine in “working position” guaranteed the mentioned disinfection depth. Work Position The VERDIVAP AIRSTEAM VD1 is equipped with a raising device controlled by joysticks. Two electric cylinders placed at the level of the back wheels perform the “work position” and the “moving action position”. Moreover the steering control is performed by joystick using the back wheels; this permits the machine to be able to get out of any situation. 
Moving action position The soil is pressed and covered by a mobile apron fixed on the chassis, to prevent the hot humidified air from escaping, thus forcing it to “work” long enough to be efficient. It is possible to sow and plant on the plot the day following treatment. The soil will regenerate and the bacteriological flora will naturally be reconstituted within few days. There is no residue on a soil or the vegetables after disinfection with the VERDIVAP AIRSTEAM.
